These volunteers lead the Impact Chairs Council. This group is
composed of the Chair and Co-Chair of each of the Community
Impact Councils. Its role is to oversee our Community Impact
projects and make sure they are achieving measurable results on
the issues donors care about. The Council is chaired by Dr.
Richard Pan, a highly respected community leader and pediatrician
at UC Davis Medical Center.
The volunteers on the Health Impact Council will oversee a
project to reduce obesity and increase the number of people in
our community who are living a healthy lifestyle.
The volunteers on the Education Impact Council will
be charting a course to ensure all students
graduate high school with an additional effort on focused
on all students reading at grade level as they enter
fourth grade.
The volunteers on the Income Impact Council will
administer a multi-pronged approach of workforce development,
financial education and asset development to empower working
families with the tools to become economically
self-sufficient.
Community Impact Councils are teams of volunteers who identify
tough issues and develop collaborative projects to achieve
specific outcomes. The funding for these projects comes from
donors who entrust their gifts to United Way.
