United Way California Capital Region is excited to host the 5th
annual Toilet Paper Drive! In effort to create awareness of the
growing demand for services faced by many local nonprofits, we
are cutting their toilet paper costs. On Thursday, June 13 we
will be at Cal Expo collecting toilet paper from 7 a.m. – 7
p.m. Choose your roll to help us hit our goal!
DONATE toilet paper, toilet paper, and
more toilet paper. Roll this news out to your friends, family,
co-workers and get them to donate toilet paper. It’s fun and a
simple way to give back. You
can also donate online!
VOLUNTEER to work a three-hour shift at
Cal Expo the day of the drive. There’s truly something for
everyone and all ages are welcome! Simply submit the volunteer
form.
I’m the official mascot of the United Way Toilet Paper Drive! I’m
here to join your adventures. I can go anywhere! Take a picture
with me and share your photo on our Facebook page or tag us on
Twitter at @unitedwayccr. Don’t forget to mention #TPdrive!
I can’t wait to see where this year will take me. With your
support we can reach our goal of collecting 190,000 rolls to help
our local nonprofits spend money where it matters and NOT on
toilet paper!

WellPoint hit the mark of 3,425 rolls with the help of a cake
walk held for employees who donated toilet paper.Their drive
lasted two weeks and included other fun prizes and
incentives. We enjoy hearing how workplaces find new ways to
inspire their employees to give. By WellPoint doing their cake
walk they make an impact to those in need. Due to their
efforts, they placed themselves in the top 10!
Congratulations to Genworth for landing in the Top 10 for the
first time with their donation of 2,216 rolls! It’s wonderful to
see new companies in our region get involved with this drive
since it makes such a difference to our certified nonprofit
partners. We are thrilled to say thank you to Genworth for LIVING
UNITED this year for their generous donation.
We recognize Allied/Nationwide for collecting a total of
3,994 rolls. Uniquely this year majority of
their donations came through our online donation
tool hosted on our website we arranged with our partner
Sac-Val Janitorial Supply. We’re glad they were able utilize
this tool to donate so many rolls.
Thank you Allied/Nationwide for your commitment to be a leader in
giving.
Great work Bank of America! It’s not easy getting to that 5,000
roll mark and you surpassed it by donating a total of 5,331
rolls. Also, your volunteerism the day of the drive and
at distribution day means the world to us. Thank you
for your undeniable support to United Way, local nonprofits
and our community!
Thank you CSAC Excess Insurance Authority for rolling out this
year with 10,668 rolls! We are continually grateful for your
increase in donations, but you really topped it this year by
donating nearly 7,000 more rolls than you did last year! That
takes a lot of work and dedication, and because of the large
donation by we were able to give more rolls this year than ever
before. You are a prime example of how to LIVE UNITED!
Impressively The Golden 1 Credit Union donated 6,282 rolls
of toilet paper. They’ve landed in the Top TP donor list the past
four years. Their generosity and continued support since our
first drive has truly shown us their commitment to
the community and overall dedication to make this drive
a success. Thank you for all your contributions over
the past four years!
Every year Intel has increased their donation to the drive
and this year they had an outstanding donation
of 16,491 rolls! During the month of June they held TP games
to raise awareness. Their TP drive coordinator Nicole
England and Clair Audette-bauman hosted a TP Toss during lunch in
the FM 7 Café. Vying for the opportunity to win an Intel
solid state drive, employees tossed rolls into a makeshift toilet
all while learning about the cost of TP for nonprofits and
how those dollars could be used for valuable services
SEIU Local 1000 has landed as our top toilet paper donor two
years in a row! They more than doubled their donation last year
of 10,302 by donating 25,000+ rolls to our 4th annual LIVE
UNITED Toilet Paper Drive. The SEIU Local 1000 Toilet Paper
Drive campaign was led by Mel Stewart (pictured with thumbs up)
who coordinated with many of the SEIU Local 1000 District Labor
Council’s, and he hit the ground running with self made flyers,
posters and collection centers even before the “official” United
Way promotional tools were available!
Wow! You should pat yourself on the back. This year
volunteers logged about 450 volunteer hours and collected 177,451
rolls of toilet paper in just 12 hours! Way to LIVE
UNITED.
It’s because of people like you that we can have such success and
give back to our local nonprofits on a level that is truly
outstanding. Last Thursday the toilet
paper was distributed to our certified nonprofit partners
out at Foodlink and they received 1,500 rolls each, if not
more!
We have been more than impressed with Enterprise Rent-A-Car as
they continue to grow their drive with unique
activities. This year they created an entire miniature golf course
out of toilet paper! United Way staff had a great time even
though they came in as highest score! In total they collected
18,592 rolls of toilet paper!
We think you are spectacular Enterprise Rent-A-Car!
We are thrilled to announce our final count is 52,451 rolls OVER
our anticipated goal! Our final roll count including the 2:1
match by Sac-Val is a whopping 177,451 rolls.

Don’t take our word for it, let our certified nonprofit partner
Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services tell you why TP is so
important in this short clip.
Intel Sac got a headstart on their TP collection since they will
be moving offices in the next couple of weeks. They collected
7,000 rolls last year and had a goal of 8,000 this year. Go Intel
Sac employees!
A special thank you to Enterprise Rent-A-Car for providing
the van to pick up the TP!
The greater Sacramento community rolled out the white carpet for
local nonprofits, donating more than 47,000 rolls of toilet paper
to help more than 100 nonprofits offset costs for this important
staple and allocate more dollars toward programs. The 2nd Annual
LIVE UNITED Toilet Paper Drive sponsored by AT&T raised
12,000 more rolls than last year’s inaugural drive.
United Way California Capital Region and FOX40 News partnered
once again for the 3rd annual LIVE UNITED Toilet Paper Drive,
which benefited many of United Way’s 140+ certified nonprofit
partners who spend thousands of dollars on toilet paper each
year.
We collected 77,227 rolls of TP, and with the 2:1 Sac-Val
Janitorial Supply match of 38,613, we collected a grand total of
115,840 rolls!
It was a site to be seen when more than 200 Allied/Nationwide
employees marched their way up the Cal Expo main entrance
carrying the 3,306 rolls of toilet paper they collected. It was a
perfect display of how they LIVE UNITED. Thank you
Allied/Nationwide!
