These volunteers set the policy direction for certification,
oversee the annual process of certifying agencies and hear
appeals from those agencies being recommended for denial of
certification.
This committee hires and supervises the organization’s
independent audit firm(s). The Audit Committee receives, reviews
and accepts all required audit reports annually.
This committee recruits new board members, nominates the officers
of the organization and works to assure that the Board has the
capabilities it needs to fulfill its governance role.
This group of volunteers helps to share the many different ways
that United Way can help local employers and individuals
facilitate their philanthropic needs. Additionally, they lead and
promote United Way’s special initiative programs such as Women in
Philanthropy, Emerging Leaders, and Planned Giving.
It is composed of the board chair, vice chair, immediate past
chair, CEO, and the chairs of other various standing committees
of the Board of Directors.
This committee is responsible for oversight of financial and
administrative matters of the organization—everything from the
annual operating budget to banking relationships to personnel
matters. The Human Resources & Compensation Sub-Committee of
this committee deals with executive compensation and the annual
CEO performance review.
These volunteers work directly with United Way California Capital
Region’s Marketing Department to ensure communication to donors,
future donors, agencies and all other vitally important stake
holders is handled in the best way possible.
This group of volunteers assure that campaign models and services
reflect the evolving desires and needs of employers and workplace
donors in the regional community.
